Five things to do in Brooklyn, March 29–April 4
Witchy woman: Stevie Nicks will be inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame on March 29 at Barclays Center.
There are still a few (relatively) affordable tickets available to the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony tonight at Barclays Center! You will be up in the rafters but you should still be able to catch performances by — or tributes to — this year’s new class: Janet Jackson, the Cure, Stevie Nicks, Radiohead, Roxy Music, and the Zombies.
7 pm at Barclays Center (620 Atlantic Ave. at Pacific Street in Prospect Heights, www.barclayscenter.com). $106–$506.
Come to the Brooklyn’s first female-focused fermentation festival! Spend the afternoon in the backyard of Sycamore, soaking up spring sunshine and booze at the Women’s Homebrew Competition. You can fill your souvenir sample glass with beer from 15 amateur ale artists, vote for your favorite, and enter a raffle for beer and beer accessories.
2–5 pm at Sycamore [1118 Cortelyou Rd. between Stratford and Westminster roads in Ditmas Park, (347) 240–5850, www.sycamorebrooklyn.com]. $20 ($15 in advance).
Hail to the thief
You think you know the story of “Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves,” but the real hero of the tale is Ali’s slave girl, Marjana. Target Margin Theater will set the record straight tonight, at the official opening of “Marjana and the 40 Thieves,” an immersive show that lets the audience lounge on couches and sip tea.
8 pm at Target Margin Theater [232 52nd St. between Second and Third avenues in Sunset Park, (718) 398–3095, www.targetmargin.org]. $25–$35.
Black & white
We like the Marvel movies with the spaceships and explosions as much as anyone, but we also enjoy the street-level battles of the Marvel television shows. Tonight you can see the premiere of season two of “Cloak and Dagger,” the Freeform network show about a pair of superpowered teens, and chat with the cast after the show.
7 pm at Alamo Drafthouse Cinema [445 Albee Square West between Fulton and Willoughby streets Downtown, (718) 513–2547, www.drafthouse.com/nyc]. $5.
How can you resist a fund-raising dinner titled “Don’t… Eat… ’Til Brooklyn!” You can’t, so you might as well make plans to chow down with Citymeals on Wheels, a group that delivers food to home-bound seniors. Tonight’s tasting tour will feature samples from some of Brooklyn’s best barbecue spots, along with seafood, cocktails, desserts, and much more.
7 pm at Dumbo Loft (155 Water St. at Anchorage Place in Dumbo, www.citymeals.org/donteat). $85 ($100 VIP).
