Police are searching for a man who they say broke into a Bensonhurst synagogue and stole $2,000 cash during the Jewish holiday of Passover.
The lout forcibly entered the Yeshiva Ohel Torah Synagogue — located on 17th Avenue at 63rd Street — by climbing through a side window April 24 at around 8 p.m., and fled with the cash shortly thereafter, cops said.
Police describe the man as 5 feet 7 inches tall and about 190 pounds, with a stocky build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored short-sleeve shirt, blue jeans, and blue sneakers, according to authorities.
