Fort Greene man kills girlfriend, himself, in murder-suicide

A man shot his girlfriend and then turned the gun on himself in her Fort Greene apartment building Sunday night, according to authorities.

Police discovered the body of Naire McCormick, 44, and her 47-year-old boyfriend with gunshot wounds to the head inside the 10th floor bedroom of her Clermont Avenue apartment near Flushing Avenue at 11:20 p.m. on Sept. 15, according to a spokesman for the Police Department.

Cops also found the pistol at the scene and are investigating the murder suicide as a homicide, the spokesman said.

The authorities have are waiting to release the man’s name pending family notification, the spokesman added.
